Royal Aircraft Factory BE2 and BE12 variants fighters of No 77 Squadron had Kincairn available to them as a Home Defence landing ground during World War One. This has always proved a most enigmatic airfield but what can be said is that the relatively ancient settlement of the same name certainly existed a fair distance north of Gargunnock and to the west of today’s Blair Drummond Safari Park.

The following organisations are either based at, use and/or have at least potentially significant connections with the airfield (as at 01/09/2011):

  • Gargunnock Community Council
  • Thornhill & Blairdrummond Community Council

  • No 77 Sqn
Home Defence Flight Station(s):

New Haggerston / Turnhouse / Whiteburn
