As with some other veterans groups, age reasons have reluctantly forced the Little Staughton Pathfinder Association to disband. Nos 109 and 582 Squadrons flew Lancasters and Mosquitoes from this Bedfordshire base during 1944-45 and won two posthumous Victoria Crosses in the process. Happily the local village has arranged to maintain a marker on the edge of the airfield lay-by and certain other artefacts now that the Association has ceased. Exclusive commemorative mugs were distributed to young people’s organisations.
