The world famous airship station continues to deteriorate at an alarming rate. Since the RAF pulled out Cardington has fallen victim to extreme commercial pressures with most of its factory buildings demolished. One structure is listed but badly decaying due to ongoing vandalism. The massive original No 1 airship shed is meanwhile in such poor shape it is said a bus could be driven through existing holes and pieces can be seen falling off if one waits long enough.
