Airfield of the Week - Largs

The Second World War seaplane base of Largs was operated by Prestwick-based civilian company Scottish Aviation Limited. Aircraft such as Consolidated Catalina and Coronado flying boats operated from the base, the former being fitted with specialist equipment and serviced at Largs to help win the Battle of the Atlantic against German U-boats.

ABCT unveiled an airfield marker at Largs on 2nd October 2010.
