It's been a fantastic last few days for ABCT with the unveiling of two memorials in Devon.
Around 90 locals turned out at
Okehampton on Friday to remember the airfield and those who served there. A flyover followed the service, thanks to Richard Horner, who volunteered his services, as did a wonderful tea in the village hall complete with the opportunity to peruse archive images and artefacts.
The ABCT team was quite overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown by the local community and would like to thank everyone who contributed and attended.
The charity unveiled a second memorial at the former
RAF Harrowbeer on Saturday as part of the spectacular weekend organised to mark the airfield's 70th Anniversary. Again ABCT's unveiling was well-supported and the team was greatly encouraged by the numbers of people who came to the service. Indeed, the whole event was really something with thousands of people enjoying the plethora of superb activities. A special thanks must go to Debby Henderson, one of the organisers, who worked tirelessly to make the celebrations a success.
